Welcome

Welcome to the April 2024 Registration for One Goal & Learn to Play with Quad City Hockey Association!

This registration session will open March 6th, 2024 and will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.  Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

One Goal & Learn to Play Hockey

Our next session of One Goal/Learn to Play session will be on the following dates in April & May;  Every Monday & Wednesday, beginning April 29th - May 15th at 5:30-6:30pm at the River's Edge Rink.

One Goal:  $80 Beginning skaters; you may only register for One Goal one time before moving on to Learn to Play Hockey.  One Goal is 6 sessions.  Please come early enough to get your skater dressed and ready to step on the ice at 5:30pm.  One Goal is usually for those players that are just learning to skate.  We will focus on standing up, falling down, starting, stopping, etc.

Learn to Play Hockey:  $80 for 6 sessions and for players that have already completed the One Goal program.  If you have not gone through the One Goal program, but have previous skating experience, please contact the One Goal Director at OneGoal@QuadCityHockey.com to discuss the proper placement for your player.  Your player may go through Learn to Play as many times as is deemed necessary.  In Learn to Play, we divide half of the rink into different stations that will focus on specific drills; passing, skating around cones, backwards skating, etc.  Please have your player dressed and ready to step on the ice at 5:30pm.

All players participating in these two programs must wear full hockey gear while on the ice.  This includes; helmet, chest pad, elbow pads, shin pads, breezers, gloves and skates.  (Skates may be borrowed from the River's Edge for each session at no charge.  They must be returned after each session.)

Parents will not be allowed on the ice unless they have completed all of the USA Hockey coaching requirements.  (More details on how to become a coach may be found at this link.)

Equipment Fitting:  If you do not already have your own hockey equipment, you can get fitted for hockey equipment from the QCHA by choosing the additional equipment rental option and receive over $240 worth of equipment for a deposit of $150 for players age 9 and under; players age 10 and older will have a deposit of $250.  This deposit can be returned to you after the session is over, if you decide to return all of the equipment (you may keep the stick and jersey).  If you decide to keep the equipment, we will keep the deposit.  Contact the One Goal Director at Onegoal@quadcityhockey.com to set up a time to meet for the equipment fitting.

Two Steps to Registering

There are two steps in registering for any of the programs offered by the QCHA.

1.  You will need to register and become a member with USA Hockey.  The link and the cost are listed below and is completely separate from anything the QCHA charges.  This membership is good for one hockey season; September 1-August 31.

2.  After you have your membership number, you will click on "Continue" at the bottom of this page to complete the registration with the QCHA.

Both steps must be completed.

USA Hockey Requirement

Each player that wants to participate with the QCHA must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to sign up for this current One Goal/Learn to Play session.  This is a completely separate fee outside of the QCHA prices.  USA Hockey prices are listed below by age group.  The USA Hockey membership is good from September 1-August 31st of each year.

**Each player will need either a 2023-24 OR a 2024-25 USA Hockey membership.  The new 2024-25 USA Hockey membership will be available after April 5th, 2024.  If you are new to hockey, please wait until after that date to register.  All 2023-24 memberships will expire on August 30th, 2024.
